Thanksgiving 09
For the first time since my senior year of college, I went home for Thanksgiving this year. My, how things have changed in the past decade! (For anyone who regularly visits this blog and has been living under a rock, I'll gladly fill you in sometime on the details of my parents' retirement and move to Arizona, along with their acquisition of a son in-law, daughter in-law, and grand-daughter, but I'm going to assume you all know this stuff :)
Our visit was busy and action-packed. From my parents' house in Green Valley (south of Tucson), we drove up to Fountain Hills on Wednesday for a quick but very nice visit with Aunt Pat, Uncle Tom, and cousin Pam (see above picture). On Thanksgiving day, my cousin Kathy (on my dad's side) and her family came over for dinner. In between these family visits, we somehow managed to squeeze in some R&R at the pool, and Susannah enjoyed exploring the house and getting lots of attention from Grandma and Grandpa, uncle Marschall and aunt Megan. We took a few short videos over the weekend and I have posted them below. Sadly, Peter and Anna weren't there but we hope to see them soon. While going home for Thanksgiving has changed since the late 90's, I'm happy to report that some things, like Mom's apple pie, are the same (very tasty)!
